Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Brady Poppinga is suing a Southern California hospital and several of its doctors, alleging they contributed to the tragic death of her teenage son last year.
A former NFL running back filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles this week … claiming multiple doctors at Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center did not provide adequate care. Julius Popinga after the family admitted the 17-year-old to the hospital’s ICU.
Brady and his wife in a suit, Brookesay they brought their son in on August 27, 2023 with chest pains and breathing problems… but despite around-the-clock attention from doctors, he didn’t get better.
On Aug. 29, the Popingas said in their lawsuit, Julius was conscious and out as he struggled to breathe … but at one point he woke up and was “crying and scared” as he yelled to Brooke, who he believed “was her “: going to die.”

Brady and Brooke claim that the doctor at the scene “negligently and mistakenly concluded that Julius was having a panic attack and prescribed him some medication. Shortly thereafter, Julius is said to have died.
An autopsy revealed that Julius died of a pulmonary embolism.
The Poppingas are suing for medical negligence wrongful death and more … and are seeking unspecified damages.
The two have actually spoken publicly about Julius’ death several times, including in June, when Brooke described her late son as “very compassionate” and a “joyful person.”
