Former MLB pitcher Brian Matusch – best known for his years on the mound for the Baltimore Orioles – died of an apparent overdose… TMZ Sports confirmed.
Our sources tell us Matusi was found dead Jan. 6 at her residence in Phoenix, Ariz. … with a white substance around her mouth and drug paraphernalia, including a straw, lighter and aluminum foil, near her right hand.

We are told that it was Matush’s mother. Elizabethwho discovered him … after she became worried about him because of comments he had made about having nothing left to live for.
Our sources say Matush has a history of substance abuse, though he recently got clean.
Matusch, the fourth overall pick in the 2008 draft, played in the MLB from 2009 to 2016 … playing time with the Orioles and Cubs.He signed with the Diamondbacks in 2017, but briefly was later released.
Matushi death shocked the baseball world… The Orioles said in a statement. “Brian was loved throughout Birdland and his passion for baseball and our community was unparalleled. He gave his time to connect with any fan he could, was a beloved teammate, and always had a smile on his face.”
Matush was only 37 years old.
