A star of a Disney Channel show says she’s being harassed at her new job as an ice cream slinger because of a previous arrest and conviction for communicating with a minor online.
Stoney Westmorelandwho played the grandfather on “Andy Mack,” ran to court to get a restraining order against a former neighbor who continues to show up at Cold Stone Creamery, where Westmoreland works.
In the documents, Westmoreland says the boy lied to the store owner and manager about himself, met Cold Stone customers and said he was a “child abuser.” He said he was frightened by the man’s actions, which were revealed during the holidays during.
Westmoreland said the boy showed up at the ice cream shop and an adjacent business on Dec. 21, 22, 26 and 27 and warned people about an “unregistered child sex offender” working at the store.
She says the man is “lying about me and my legal history,” but it’s not clear from the documents which part of Westmoreland is lying.
As we reported, he was arrested in 2018 and charged in Utah with luring a minor over the Internet. Prosecutors said she arranged to have sex with someone she met online and believed she was 13.
He eventually pleaded guilty to a lesser charge, and that was it sentenced to 2 years in prison. She is now out and working in Los Angeles, but says she fears her alleged stalker will be abused. she claims the man is “shaking like he’s about to be photographed” when he appears in the store.
Westmoreland is seeking a temporary restraining order that would require the boy to stay 50 yards away from his home and work and stop all contact or harassment with Westmoreland.
The judge granted the TRO and set a February hearing for both sides to have their say.
