The bomb Matt Getz A congressional report released chilling details that he paid $90,000 for sex and drugs, including multiple affairs with a 17-year-old high school student.
The House Ethics Committee found that the former congressman paid dozens of women for sex between 2017 and 2020. CBS Newswhich received a copy of the 37-page report the Committee announced last week it would release.
The report said one of the women Gaetz paid was then a junior high school student with whom he had sex in front of others, and the committee said it had receipts showing “tens of thousands of dollars in payments to women” that he has been found to be “probably related to sexual activity or drug use.”
The then-17-year-old girl, referred to in the report as “Victim A,” testified for the commission that Gaetz gave her $400 in cash at a party in 2017, which she “understood was to pay for sex.” : They allegedly had sex twice at the party, and the woman says she didn’t tell Gaetz that she was under 18 and he didn’t ask.
All of the women interviewed said they had consensual sex with Gaetz, the report said.
Gaetz, who resigned from Congress last month after President-elect Donald Trump nominated him to be US Attorney General, refused to comply with a request to testify before the Committee…and instead submitted written responses.
He denied the committee’s allegations, saying his actions during his 30s were “disgraceful but not criminal” … and that the payments were gifts to girlfriends.
The committee said there was “substantial evidence” that Gaetz violated House rules or standards of conduct that prohibit “prostitution, statutory rape, illegal drug use, impermissible gifts, special benefits or privileges, and obstruction of Congress.”
Gaetz has dropped out of the race for attorney general.
The ethics commission also said it received texts in which Gaetz referred to drugs, including ecstasy and cocaine, as “party junkies,” “rollers” and “vitamins…” and claimed he wrote a fake letter to buy marijuana. :
