If: Brandon Jacobs led the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Eli Manning wouldn’t have to wait long for a bust … as former Giants shortstop says his former teammate is ‘no doubt’ a first-ballot Hall of Famer.
Jacobs didn’t say a word when TMZ Sports got him talking about Manning’s HOF candidacy this week … saying Eli’s two Super Bowl wins over the New England Patriots should be enough for a gold jacket alone.
“Well, s***,” Jacobs said, “he beat Tom Brady twice is enough.”
Jacobs, however, says Manning also has the stats to check in … explaining that the former New York quarterback’s numbers are “right up there with pretty much any guy we think is great.”
Also, according to Jacobs, Manning’s teams were never that good … but he still somehow finished his 16-year NFL career with two championship rings.
“I think Eli is a first-ballot Hall of Famer,” Jacobs said, “and he definitely deserves to be in this year.”
Eli was just named one of 15 modern-era finalists for the Class of 2025, vying for the coveted spots alongside names like Luke Kuechly, Jared Allen and: Steve Smith Sr.
He’ll know on Feb. 6 if he gets the call on the 25th, but Jacobs seems to think that’s a foregone conclusion.
“No question,” he said.
