Ready to introduce female rappers at the Grammys

Doechi hard at work rehearsing for an upcoming concert… possibly the biggest night in music in a few weeks, where he’s up for top honors.
We caught up with the Florida rapper offstage in Los Angeles on Wednesday and asked him about his Grammy nominations. he was nominated for 3 categories including Best New Artist, Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Album.
As the only woman in the hip hop category, she knows she’s representing women in rap this year…and she’s honored and excited about it.
She told us she’s been rehearsing for the “biggest night on TV” … and when asked if she was going to perform, she was downbeat, saying: “Maybe, maybe not…as if.”
The reigning king of rap himself Kendrick Lamarhas personally Doechi was called the “toughest” of all rappers, male or female… and he is often mentioned in the same breath as artists Gloria and: Stallion by Megan Twhich have been leaving men in the dust lately.
If Doechi wins anything on February 2nd, he tells us, he will speak from the heart. The “Denial is a River” rapper says he doesn’t know what to say… and he’s not going to give a speech either.
When it comes to the wildfires that devastated Los Angeles this month, which have ravaged large swathes of the city, displaced thousands and killed at least 27, he says it’s heartwarming how the city has come together … and he loves the support. each other in the wake of tragedy.
