Denzel Washington took a big step to strengthen his faith… the Oscar winner was recently baptized and received his minister’s license.
The Hollywood star was baptized at the Kelly Church of God in New York on Saturday.Dressed in a white robe and burgundy stole adorned with crosses, DW kept his head down as spiritual leaders drenched him in the baptismal water.
Along with his baptismal certificate, the actor also received his ministry license, which apparently means Denzel can serve in ministerial duties.
In fact, when he was presented with his new credentials, his minister told the crowd that Denzel was recognized as a “member of the Churches of God around the world.”
Pauletta WashingtonDenzel’s wife, 41, appeared to be in the crowd to support the actor as he embarked on this new spiritual chapter, and was spotted filming the ceremony from her front row seat at the congregation.
Denzel isn’t the first celebrity to later be baptized… joining the ranks. Justin Bieber, Kat Von D, Demi Lovato, Mario Lopezamong others, all reaffirmed their faith through spiritual immersion.
Looks like Denzel is putting Christ in Christmas this holiday season.
