Doncaster Allen is a veteran of punishing bouts, he said Sky Sports“I think experience is a factor. But I’m better than him. It seems ridiculous to a lot of people because they’ve seen me out of shape.
“Johnny Fisher is very self-aware and very smart. People around him say he’s better than him. He’s good, but not great.”
Allen has had a sparring session with Fisher and believes it will blow his opponent’s mind.
“I think he’s going to be nervous because we sparred and he’s seen me on TV for years. I’ve been in that position,” Allen said very much against david price.
“When I boxed Price, I’m a David Price fan and I box David Price, it hit me a little bit.”
But Allen also revealed that he was going to be “terrified”.
“I’ve boxed really good fighters, but I never thought once. I never thought of this one. if he hits me, I’m out of there,” Allen said.
“So it really turned me on. The idea that I’m on a roll is scary. That’s why I trained really hard.”
Allen announced. “I’m not a liar. I’ll come against him. It’s better. I’m a good amateur.
“I’m going to treat it like a three-minute boxing match. I’m going to win all three rounds and there’s every chance I’m going to knock him out. That’s how I feel about this fight.
“I’m just going to get him out of the box for three rounds, and if I get him out of the box, I’m going to put him on something. … And if it gets past three, we’ll make it an old-school four-round amateur fight.”
Although Fisher hit back by telling Sky Sports“If I’m not nervous, there’s something wrong.”
But he added: “I’m not nervous about sparring. I was 19 when it happened and it was just a spar. Nothing untoward happened in that sparring. I didn’t go down, I didn’t fall and I proved it. For me, I could have been a professional boxer that day because I can take the punishment and keep moving forward.
“I’m ready for anything. I can box, I can punch. So if he wants to throw the kitchen sink at it, that might be his only option, we’ll see.
“He can make it a three-round fight. It’s going to be amazing because it’s a tear from the start. And I love tears.”
