The Titans are in dire need of a quarterback, though Chris Johnson advises his former team to still take Travis Hunter in the spring NFL Draft – telling TMZ Sports Tennessee would be “absolutely stupid” to pass on the Heisman Trophy winner.
If the season ended today, the 3-13 Titans would have the No. 2 overall pick … and many experts believe they should target signal callers like Shader Sanders or Cam Ward there because their QB play has been terrible this year.
But Johnson thinks it would be a big mistake to let Hunter go for one of the young arms … explaining to us that he thinks the two-way star from Colorado could make a difference for his former team.
“I think we’d be absolute fools to ignore Travis,” he said.
A big reason Johnson likes the move is because he’s a fan of it Will Lewis.
CJ2K says that even though the former second-round pick is just 5-15 as a starter and has just 20 passing yards to 16 interceptions … he could be a productive leader at some point in the near future.
“I think Will will end up being a quarterback,” the former tailback said. “You look at some quarterbacks like Jordan Love, they’ve had time to sit and learn : So I feel like he’s going to come into his own.

Of course, the Titans may not even have a shot at Hunter or one of the top QBs, as a late Sunday night win over the Houston Texans could drop them significantly down the pecking order.
Then again, a loss could cost them the No. 1 pick, which is where Johnson would like them to take Travis.
