Chris Jericho is set to defend his Ring of Honor World Championship on Friday in New York City… and the self-proclaimed “King of New York” says: TMZ Sports he’s ready to go all out in his main event matchup Matt Cardona!!
Babcock Caught up with the legendary wrestler ahead of the ROH Final Battle PPV. a show that Jericho believes is the biggest opportunity his opponent has ever had in his career.
“Win, lose or draw, this is the biggest stage he’s been on in a long time,” he said. “I expect a great match from him. But he knows what to expect from me, who is one of the best of all time as a world champion.”
“That’s a motivated Chris Jericho, that’s a dangerous Chris Jericho. I think I’m a little crazier now than I’ve ever been.”
While he’s ready to put on a show for fans in a few hours, we asked the 54-year-old after all he’s accomplished over the years: what’s left to check off?
For him, it’s all about the people who create memories for those close to him.
“If you look at the facts and the numbers, there’s really nothing left for me to accomplish,” Jericho said. that’s basically what I’m left to do, and that’s the basis of the night.”
“I don’t take anything lightly, I don’t call with anything or anything half-baked.”
