Caroline Dubois was brutally dismantling Jessica Kamara, but was out with a technical draw when an accidental headbutt eliminated the Canadian competitor.
Dubois retains the WBC featherweight title and will likely consider it a victory in all but name.
It was Dubois’ first defense of the belt since being promoted to the interim world title, but he looked the perfect champion from the opening bell.
The London southpaw attacked his opponent with relentless efficiency, Dubois landing a hard, solid jab and then landing a ferocious one-two punch on Kamara early in the fight.
He unleashed vicious left hooks and he exploded with follow-up punches as he hunted for an early finish.
Kamara had to keep his guard high and tight. But Dubois still stabbed him in the left side.
Dubois kept Kamara under pressure throughout the second period. The competitor was badly marked, her nose was damaged and a bad cut opened.
Before the third round began, referee Kieran McCann called a time-out so the doctor could check on Kamara.
Dubois dominated the contest for as long as it lasted, and while he won’t pick up the win, he retains the WBC World Championship.
“I don’t think he wanted it. I hit him with a straight right and knocked him down in the first round,” Dubois said afterward.
“I saw that his right eye was swollen shut. The blood wasn’t coming to his face from the cut, it was running down the side of his face.
“She didn’t want to, man. The doctor was stopping it, or I was stopping it.”

But the Scotsman Forrest trusted his strength and gave Miller the right to counter for the first time in the first round.
He rocked Miller again with a wide right hook, but the Londoner still countered.
Forrest then applied a devastating finish in round 2. Just as Forrest appeared to be leaning against the ropes, he stopped Miller with a straight left hook and then blasted him with a right.
Miller hit the canvas hard. He tried to straighten but collapsed again and had to stop at 1-49 of the second stage.
Sam Hickey was taking part in what should have been a tough fight for only his second pro fight, but the Scotsman made it look easy.

Mario Silva layered Emmanuel Zion with kicks and began firing long, back shots into the house.As the crowd warmed to his efforts as he worked over Zion on the ropes, Silva dominated the proceedings.
But the Londoner put up some resistance in the later rounds as he began to land some hooks of his own on Silva, giving the Mancunian pause for thought.
Silva was still the clear winner, taking a 59-56 decision after six rounds.
