
Ten people, including the officer, were hospitalized after a motorcycle crash involving a Palm Springs State Police trooper during the annual holiday parade over the weekend.
The crash happened around 6 p.m. Saturday as hundreds of spectators gathered to watch the 32nd annual Palm Springs Parade of Lights. Dramatic video posted on social media shows the officer losing control of his motorcycle before barreling into a crowd of people nearby. in
It is reported that the policeman’s hand was cut during the accident.
Palm Springs Police Chief Andy Mills “I feel terrible for the accident and the injuries to the people we protect. I am deeply concerned and hope for a full recovery.”
The California Highway Patrol is conducting a traffic investigation and an administrative review by the Palm Springs Police Department will follow. “After conducting our investigation, I will report to the community. Again, I am sincerely sorry.”
All of the bystander injuries were reported as non-life threatening.
