Gov. Gavin Newsom warned late Sunday that the week began with the announcement of an “Extremely Dangerous State” for new wildfires, even as fires continued to fight several fires still burning.
“Emergency responders are on standby tonight. Pre-positioned firefighters and engines are being deployed from across Southern California,” he said. he said in social networks “Stay safe. Be ready if you are ordered to evacuate.”

A warning from the National Weather Service says the fire danger is high in Santa Barbara, Ventura and Los Angeles counties amid gusty winds, a lack of recent precipitation and relatively low humidity. The warning began Monday night and will last until Wednesday morning, the service said.
It’s the fourth of its kind in three months, Newsom said. The first came before the Ventura Mountain Fire, which destroyed 243 structures. The second, before the Franklin Fire in Malibu, destroyed 20 structures.
And the third was before the Palisades and Eaton Fires, which have now destroyed thousands of homes and structures, he said.
