Bill Maher Reacts To California Cutting Red Tape After L.A. Wildfires

Bill Maher Got a question for the governor of California Gavin Newsom and Mayor of Los Angeles Karen Bass … why does the state need a massive disaster to cut red tape?

Bill joined us on TMZ Live, and we asked him about the heat Newsom and Bass are taking in response to the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles and what it will take to rebuild Los Angeles.

The “Real Time” host says Newsom and Bass absolutely deserve to be held accountable for what Maher says were a series of blunders that fueled the disaster … and he says now is absolutely the time to speak up for their actions, or lack thereof. about them.

BM knows this all too well… It took him a year to build a monstrous solar panel building in his backyard.

Bass signed an executive order aimed at speeding up the process of getting the necessary building permits … which will hopefully speed up redevelopment … but Bill says that’s just proof that there’s no need for red tape in the first place.

Bill mocks politicians who pretend they’re doing residents a favor by getting rid of unnecessary red tape … telling us it’s time for California to end the “red tape nightmare” once and for all.
