Film producer Jeff Brothers – best known for directing Life After Beth and The Small Hours, and husband Aubrey Plazadied … TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … police and firefighters responded to a Los Angeles-area home around 10:30 a.m. Friday to investigate a death … after an aide discovered she had passed away.
Baena was pronounced dead at the scene…law enforcement says she died by suicide.
After receiving a degree in film from New York University, Jeff moved to Los Angeles to begin his film career, initially finding lower-level work with famous directors such as: Robert Zemeckis and: David O. Russell.
It was his work with Russell that put him on the map … the two collaborated on four screenplays, including the starring I Heart Huckabees. Dustin Hoffman and: Lily Tomlin.
Around this time, Baena began to focus on her own films, such as her first feature film, the 2014 horror-comedy Life After Beth, in which she starred. John C. Reilly, Molly Shannon and Aubrey Plaza.
Baena also directed 2016’s Joshi and 2017’s The Small Hours, as well as 2020’s Horse Girl.
In 2021, Aubrey revealed that she and Jeff were married in an Instagram post after nearly a decade of dating. as you know, her career started when she starred in the show “Parks and Rec” in 2009… She then appeared in projects such as “Emily The Criminal” and “The White Lotus”.
