At least two people were killed and six others were injured in a shooting in downtown Orlando on Halloween night, police said.
Police in Orlando, Floridareceived a report of a shooting around 1 a.m. and immediately responded to the scene, Orlando police said at an early morning news conference Friday.
The authorities have confirmed that at least two people have died and six others have been injured as a result of the shooting, and a 17-year-old suspect has been arrested.
The victims were taken to the hospital and range in age from 19 to 39, according to the Orlando Police Department.
Authorities also said there were about 100 officers working downtown at the time of the shooting.
Orlando Police have not disclosed a motive for the shooting, but said the gunman appeared very deliberate in his movements, passing several officers armed with a gun and making his way through the crowd.
The unnamed 17-year-old suspect has a prior arrest record and was arrested in 2023 for grand theft, police confirmed.
