Argentine police continue to investigate Liam PayneTMZ has learned that there is another round of searches at the homes of 2 hotel employees and a “boyfriend” of the former One Direction singer.
Law enforcement sources in Buenos Aires tell TMZ … officers carried out the raids Tuesday night while searching workers’ hotel lockers and viewing security footage from the CasaSur Palermo hotel.
We’re told police believe workers made contact with Liam before the presenter took the plunge until his death On October 16, he entered the yard from the balcony of his third-floor room.
Our sources say investigators identified Liam’s “friend” through text messages on his cell phone, which police checked to determine who sold him the drugs.
However, as we were told, during the search on Tuesday, the investigators did not find the “friend” in his house.
You remember that at the end of October the police carried out the first wave of searches at CasaSur, seizure of electronic and paper records and videos of the hotel’s underground area, according to our sources.
Sources also told us that preliminary autopsy results indicated that Liam had “pink cocaine” in his system, a dangerous cocktail that usually combines meth, ecstasy and ketamine, among other drugs.
Photos taken inside Liam’s room showed white powder scattered over a table with burnt foil and other items.
So far, police haven’t arrested or charged anyone in the case… but it looks like they’re headed that way.
