A quantum computing startup is developing its own operating system to run quantum machines, similar to Microsoft Windows or macOS on a standard computer.
Quantum computer hardware has advanced rapidly. Five years ago, few of these machines had more than 20 quantum bits, or qubits, the building blocks of quantum computers, but today devices with more than 100 qubits are becoming more common. But to actually do the calculations, they need those qubits quantum software.
