Anger over COP29 finance deal threatens progress on carbon cuts

After a long and hard night of speeches, COP29 Baku finally ended in the early hours of November 24 with a deal that will see the richest countries funnel billions of dollars to the poorest countries over the next decade to pay for climate action. Despite the large numbers involved, it’s a deal that apparently pleases no one, and has cast doubt on the entire COP climate summit process.
