John CapodisA veteran actor who appeared on stage and screen for decades, including memorable roles on Ace Ventura and General Hospital, has died, TMZ reports.
Capodis’ death was announced on the website of Pizzi Funeral Home of New Jersey on Thursday. His cause of death was not disclosed.
Kapodis was born on Christmas Day 1941 in Chicago, and he served in the US Army in Korea in the mid-1960s before moving to New York to begin his acting career in Off-Broadway stage productions.
He starred in Ryan’s Hope in 1978 … and appeared in As the World Turns and Moonlight, Seinfeld, LA Law and Melrose Place, Will & Grace … and he had a recurring role on “General Hospital.” He also appeared on Broadway.
Capodis’ career film credits included Wall Street, The Doors, Speed, and Independence Day… and he had a memorable turn as a police detective who taunted; Jim CarreyAce Ventura. The main character of the movie “Animal Detective”.
He last starred in the 2024 comedy TV series “Conversation with the Monster”.
