Fraser Clarke weighed in as Fabio Wardley cut weight for their heavyweight rematch.
Clarke and Wardley put each other through a brutal 12 rounds as they fought for Wardley’s British and Commonwealth heavyweight titles for the first time.
That epic clash ended in a split draw and now both are determined to rekindle their rivalry and settle the score.
Clarke is a big man and outsized Wardley, 19st 5lb to 17st 3lb. The difference between them is significant, but both have made changes since the first fight. Clark came in heavier than the first time, while Wardley was two pounds lighter.
Stamina and mobility could be vital in this fight given how tough the first matchup was, but size and strength could also speak for themselves.
“It will definitely be more conclusive in my favor,” Clarke promised. “There is a lot of professional competition here. I want to win, he wants to win, and there can only be one.”
Wardley sounded fearless. “I felt like I had a lot of success with the first fight and how it went,” he said.
“Saturday night is going to be fantastic.”
Another titanic battle is scheduled for Saturday Sky Sports box office the bill sees Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol, both undefeated and two of the best boxers at any weight, fight for undisputed supremacy and the WBC, WBO, WBA and IBF lightweight world titles.
Both made the weight, Beterbiev at 174lbs 9oz and Bivol a fractional 174lbs 12oz.
Their final confrontation was brief and no handshakes were offered or accepted. The message was clear. “It means a lot,” Bivol said.
Beterbiev is just as focused on the result. He exuded confidence but refused to reveal too much. “We’ll see,” was all he promised.
Massey locks eyes with Opetaia
European champion Jack Massey (199lbs 12oz) steps up to world level to challenge Jai Opetaia (198lbs 9oz) for the IBF bantamweight title.
As a sign of their serious intent, they locked in a fierce stare, Opetaya unblinking as she glared at Massey.
“I just have to be myself and go in there and fight,” Massey said. “Every fight I finish strong, I’m going to be there, I’m going to drag him into deep water.
“I’m going to punish him.”
Opetaya said solemnly. “Everybody wants to be a tough guy, but skills pay the bills.
“He’s got the same hunger (as me) so it’s going to be a good fight.”
After an eventful week, most notably handing over the golden sword at the press conference, Chris Eubank Jr. weighed in at 159 pounds, 12 ounces, the same as unknown opponent Camille Seremeta.
Eubank was in really good shape at weight.
“It was nice, the weight loss went well, the interviews went well, the press conference went well, everything was perfect,” he said.
“Now I just have to do what I’ve been doing all my life, which is take guys apart in style.
“I have to go out there and deal with this tough opponent, Camille Szeremeta.”
Raven Chapman challenges WBC champion Skye Nicholson. The two fighters weighed both 125 lb 9 oz.
“It’s finally here, can’t wait,” Nicholson said. “I trust my preparation, I know what I am capable of.”
Rising light heavyweight star Liam Cameron (174lb 6oz) takes over with IBF International titleholder Ben Whittaker (174lb 9oz) on the undercard. They exchanged words to each other’s faces, but did not lose their composure.
“The work is done, the conversation is over. It’s about time,” Whittaker said.
“Go back to the hotel and play some Uno, then whip that boy tomorrow.”
