NFL’s Lonnie Phelps Gets Probation In DUI Restaurant Crash Case

Former Cleveland Browns quarterback Lonnie Phelps he was sentenced to probation this week … on charges he drunkenly crashed his SUV into a restaurant last year.

Court records obtained TMZ SportsShaw Phelps entered a plea to a felony DUI charge in a Florida courtroom Tuesday … nearly seven months after officials said he was wasted when his car crashed into the Red Shoe Island Bistro in Key West.

Phelps was ordered to spend the next 12 months on probation, the documents show. He also had his license suspended for six months and must perform 50 hours of community service as well as attend DUI school.


Phelps will also have to pay about $1,000 in fines and court costs … and he’ll have to pay restitution to the victim at a later date.

If Phelps, who is also prohibited from consuming alcohol or illegal drugs while on probation, complies with all terms of his agreement … he will be eligible for early termination of probation in six months, the documents state.

Phelps was first charged in the summer of 2024, after he was arrested for his alleged role in the June 19 crash.

The 24-year-old, an undrafted free agent out of Kansas, was released by the Browns shortly after the incident … and he has yet to sign with another NFL team.
