Bill Maher angry at people lecturing Angelenos to stop blaming politicians for devastating fires…he says that’s where most of the blame lies.
The “Real Time” anchor took a sharp dig at city and state politicians who he says share the blame.Starting at the top, BM mocks the Governor Gavin Newsomwho said local officials are trying to figure out why many hydrants are without water and why 300 hydrants are out of service and have not been repaired. As Bill says, maybe they all should have figured that out before Los Angeles burned.
And don’t get him started on the arguments people are making…well, do you want your taxes raised?Maher points out that he and others pay the state of Cali 13% of their income, so start prioritizing again expendables.
Bill has a lot to say about the mayor of Los Angeles. Karen Basswho cut the Fire Department’s budget in ways the Fire Chief says affected the department’s ability to respond.

And speaking of the boss, Bill wonders if he was chosen because he was the best man for the job or the best lesbian for the job, he raises the question, partly because his official bio speaks for itself about the variety before it gets into actual firefighting.

Bill has a lot to say about diversity, and a lot of people are going to get mad at him. But when you consider what he says, he certainly makes a point. we could do so much better and the politicians weren’t doing their job.
