Omar Marmoush: Man City agree deal in principle with forward as Eintracht Frankfurt await bid | Football News

Omar Marmoush has agreed in principle to join Manchester City from Eintracht Frankfurt, pending an agreement between the clubs.

The German club are demanding around £67m (€80m) for the 25-year-old Egyptian international, with talks expected to begin this week.

The opening offer could come as early as this weekend, with Marmouche keen on the move as he knows he is currently City boss Pep Guardiola’s first-choice target.

There is no release clause for the striker and offers significantly lower than the previously quoted figure are expected to be rejected by the Bundesliga club, who are third in Germany’s top flight.

City and the Marmoushi camp consider a transfer fee of £42-50m (€50-60m) more realistic.

Marmus, who can operate anywhere in the front three, has scored 13 goals in the Bundesliga this season, with only Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane scoring more.

Marmush statistics

He has scored 18 goals in all competitions this season, second only to his international teammate the Liverpool forward. Mohamed Salah for scoring in Europe’s top five leagues this season.

Victor Reyes

South American football pundit Tim Vickery says that despite Manchester City and Brighton showing interest in Vitor Reis, the Brazilian centre-back is “nowhere near ready for the Premier League”.

South American football expert Tim Vickery speaking on Sky Sports News’ transfer talk about Vitor Reis.

“Palmeiras are in the Club World Cup and they are very keen to keep this centre-back, who turns 19 next week.

“I don’t think he’s anywhere near ready for the Premier League at the moment. He’s classy but he needs to fill in physically.

“Palmeiras have been producing a lot of good players lately, most of them strikers.

“If you were to move him to the Premier League at this point, he would be really bullied. So maybe it’s in everyone’s interest that he stays in Brazilian football a little longer.

“But Palmeiras don’t want to sell before the Club World Cup.”
