The Premier League sees the world’s best darts players go head-to-head over 17 nights from February to May every Thursday as part of the annual PDC Darts tournament since 2005.

Matches take place every Thursday evening from 6th February to 29th May and are played at various stadiums in the UK, Ireland and Europe including Germany and the Netherlands.
February will also feature league nights in Glasgow, Dublin and Exeter in an action-packed opening month, before the 17-week extravaganza continues in March with visits to Brighton, Nottingham, Cardiff and Newcastle.
Berlin, Manchester, Rotterdam and Liverpool host events in April before the season ends in May.The final four nights of the regular season will take place in Birmingham, Leeds, Aberdeen and Sheffield before the season-ending play-offs take place at The O2 in London on Thursday 29 May. to whom
What is the Premier League Darts format?
Every Premier League night from 2022 has been turned into a mini-tournament, with eight players competing in four quarter-finals, with each player meeting once in the first seven weeks and then from weeks nine to 15.
The winners advance to the semi-finals and the last four winners advance to the finals, where the winner of the night will be announced.
Each match is best of 11 and the winner gets five points, the runners-up three points and the two losing semi-finalists two points.The top four in the Premier League table at the end of the last 16 night in Sheffield will go through to the play-offs in London on May 29. and final night.
How do the playoffs work?
On the final night of the season, the top seed will play the fourth-placed player, and the second-placed player will play the third-placed man, with the two semi-finals played in best-of-19 games.
The winner of those semi-finals will meet in the final later that evening, a best-of-21 game, with the first player to reach 11 legs then crowned Premier League champions.
Can anyone stop Luke Littler from winning again?
Littler is the pre-tournament favorite to successfully defend his title ahead of Humphries, with Van Gerwen next in the betting markets after reaching the final of the World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace.
Darts’ newest star won four nights in seven weeks en route to topping last season, adding two runners-up finishes and reaching the semi-finals on seven other occasions during his debut campaign.
Last year’s thrilling 11-7 win over Humphreys in the final included a stunning nine-ball haul and the success sealed one of Littler’s 10 PDC titles, including the World Series of Darts and the Grand Slam of Darts, in a remarkable 2024.
What is the prize money available?
The 2025 champion will win £275,000 in prize money, £125,000 for the runner-up and £85,000 for the other two players to reach the semi-finals, while fifth to eighth will earn between £75,000 and £60,000.
Each week’s winner will receive a Winner of the Night bonus of £10,000, bringing the total prize money for this year’s Premier League to £1 million again.
Who missed their spot in 2025?
Johnny Clayton and: Dave Chisnall The two highest-ranked players on the PDC’s Order of Merit who do not occupy a Premier League place are sixth and seventh respectively when the squad is set, with the world No.8. Damon Heta – who bowled a brilliant nine during the World Cup – is also not involved.
Double world champion Peter Wright Can’t appear in the Premier League for the first time since 2013, while Michael Smith – A Premier League semi-finalist in the past two years, failed to secure a place after a disappointing year.
Mike Decker becomes the first reigning World Grand Prix champion not to be offered a place in the Premier League with a compatriot Dimitri Van den Bergh also not included in 2025 despite winning the UK Open last season.
Who has won the Premier League before?
Phil Taylor won six of the first eight editions of the Premier League between 2005 and 2012, with James Wade (2009) and Anderson (2011) the only players to stop the Power in that period.
Van Gerwen won the first of his record seven Premier League titles in 2013, with compatriot Raymond van Barneveld going top a year later, with Anderson winning in 2015 before Van Gerwen went on to win each of the next four games.
Glenn Durant and Clayton were Premier League champions in 2020 and 2021 respectively, with Van Gerwen winning back-to-back from 2022 before Littler’s impressive breakthrough title on his Premier League debut in 2024.
