Glenn Close Censored for Using F-Word During Golden Globes Speech

Glenn Close’s foul mouth landed him in hot water with CBS censors at the 82nd Annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday.

It all started when the iconic actress gave a speech before accepting the Best Picture award near the end of last night’s show.

Close told the audience about a letter she received from the late Katharine Hepburn about the tough business of Hollywood (Hepburn died of natural causes in 2003 at age 96).

Close quoted Hepburn as saying in the letter that being an actor is “a horrible profession, this horrible profession and, let’s face it, this delicious way to spend your life.”

Close then went off the rails, proudly declaring: “We are all so blessed and lucky.” Many viewers heard the audio of the live recording, which censored the foul language, but a video of Close’s uncensored speech was later posted on YouTube.

Despite this, Close presented the Best Picture – Drama award to director Brady Corbett and the cast of The Brutalist.

It seems that Close was just too excited for her big moment.
