Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill has indicated he wants to leave the franchise after they failed to reach the NFL playoffs.
Hill did not play in the final quarter of a 32-20 loss to the New York Jets on the final weekend of the regular season.
The 30-year-old missed the postseason for the first time in his career and told reporters. “For me, I just have to do what’s best for me and my family.

“If it’s here or wherever it is. I’m going to open that door for me. It’s been great to play here, but at the end of the day I have to do what’s best for my career .
“I’m too much of a competitor to just go out.”
Hill still has two years left on the extension he signed through 2022.
The Georgia native had his worst season of his Dolphins spell in 2024, finishing with 959 yards and six touchdowns.
He recorded just two catches against the Jets, his third game with two or fewer catches this season.
Hill endured a disappointing 2024 NFL season
This disappointing campaign is a stark contrast to his first two with the team, when he secured at least 1,700 yards and 119 catches in 2022 and 2023.
Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said after the Jets game that Hill’s absence was not injury-related, while adding that he did not want to discuss his player’s comments until he spoke with him.
“It would be unfair for me to equate emotion with emotion,” McDaniel said.
“Right after the end of your season, when you’re fighting for an extension and being absolutely certain that you can make it happen, I’m not going to jump to judgment about something that’s a little cloudy at this point for a lot of reasons.”
