The world’s largest facility to remove carbon dioxide from the air will open in Texas in 2025, increasing the sector’s global capacity by 13 times.

Today, the world’s largest direct air capture (DAC) plant is located in Iceland The Mammoth site, built and operated by the Swiss company Climeworks. It was opened in May 2024 and can extract 36,000 tons of CO22 every year from the Earth’s atmosphere.
