Donald Trump Urges the Supreme Court to stop the upcoming ban on TikTok.

The new law takes effect on January 19, the day Trump is inaugurated for his second term, and requires TikTok to be sold by its Chinese parent company or shut down.

Trump’s lawyer. John Sauerfiled a brief Friday, saying DJT is asking SCOTUS to consider delaying the upcoming amendment … at least until Trump is in office.

In the documents, Trump said he wanted “an opportunity to pursue a political resolution of the issues surrounding the case.”

Trump says he’s the consummate dealmaker with the expertise to fix the problem … and he says he has the “electoral mandate and political will to negotiate a resolution to save the platform while addressing national security concerns.”

Of course, Trump is big on using social media. He was previously very active on Twitter before launching his platform Truth Social, and has nearly 15 million followers on TikTok.

In separate briefings on Friday, the government defended the new law … citing concerns that the Chinese government could influence the company and create a national security concern.

Famous TikTok Influencers:

Naturally, TikTok opposes the ban… the platform says the ban would violate the First Amendment.

It will be interesting to see what SCOTUS does here.
