A Chipotle customer hit an employee in the face with a burrito bowl after she didn’t give him a refund for his Uber Eats order, and the fight over the food was partially caught on video.
Check it out… the footage begins with a hapless customer behind the counter of a Chipotle restaurant in Washington, D.C. preparing his meal with stunned staff surrounding him.
At first, some of the workers try to stop him from helping himself to the ground…but their efforts are unsuccessful.
The woman continues to serve herself until a full employee walks in and grabs the bowl in an attempt to take it away… but the customer slams the dish into the employee’s face, sending food flying everywhere.
the employee Roberto Hernandezlater interviewed WUSA9 news … and he said a customer stormed into the restaurant last week demanding a refund after he claimed Uber Eats delivered the wrong order.
Hernandez said she tried to reason with him, explaining that she should be getting a refund for her burrito bowl from Uber Eats and not directly from the restaurant … but the customer wasn’t listening, according to Hernandez.
He says that’s when he went behind the counter to make his own burrito bowl, prompting a confrontation with the workers. was”, adding: “I’m not saying what I did, but I’m not saying what it was. I was wrong.”
Chipotle also released a statement to WUSA9 saying the company is working with local law enforcement and hopes justice will be served in this case.
TMZ has obtained a copy of the police report filed by Hernandez… The report says the incident happened on December 21st when officers responded to an assault call at Chipotle.
Hernandez told police the customer threw the burrito bowl at him after he tried to catch it, then left the store with a second bowl full of food.
The report listed 2 counts of simple assault and larceny involving 2 burrito bowls totaling $40.Police are still investigating and have yet to make an arrest.
