Former President Bill Clinton has been released from the hospital after being treated for the flu, a spokesman said Tuesday.

“He and his family are deeply grateful for the exceptional care provided by the team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and are touched by the kind messages and well wishes they have received. They send their warmest wishes to everyone for a happy and healthy holiday season.” Angel Ureña, Clinton’s deputy chief of staff, said in a statement.

Clinton, 78, was admitted to a hospital in Washington on Monday after suffering from a fever.

He was “in a good mood” because he received attention and had tests done, according to Ureña.
