Tiger Woods believes his son Charlie’s ceiling for impressing in golf is “limitless” after he bogeyed a “hole-in-one” for their second-place finish at the PNC Championship.

The former world No. 1 was playing alongside his 15-year-old son in the 36-hole event, where only previous winners or ‘Players’ can play alongside a family member.

Tim Woods took a share of the lead after a round of 59 at the Ritz-Carlton Club in Florida, while hopes of victory were boosted when Charlie made his first career hole-in-one in a thrilling final day.

Woods has previously described the event as his “fifth major”, making his fifth consecutive appearance at the tournament, with the 48-year-old proud of his son’s progress.

“He (Charlie) has gotten better in every aspect of the game,” Woods said.

“I know he’s been doing it for a long time in front of the media, but being only 15, I think it’s incredible what he’s been able to achieve so far and the ceiling he has is limitless.”

“It was the thrill of a lifetime to be able to have that moment with Charlie, to open his first hole in the bag, Sam (his daughter), just our family and friends,” Woods added. “That’s what this event is about, it’s about about connection and family.

What next for Tiger?

Tiger’s appearance was his first at an event since missing the cut at The Open in July and undergoing back surgery in September to ease spasms and pain he’s experienced during the 2024 season, and Woods missed Hero World earlier this month. to the Challenge.
