Tyson Fury says it would be “sensible” for him to postpone his first heavyweight fight with Oleksandr Usyk, which would have resulted in the Briton being fined £10m.

The first meeting between the pair, ahead of Saturday’s rematch, was originally scheduled for February before the patch above Fury’s right eye was postponed until May, with the warning that if either fighter postponed the fight they would be fined £10m .

Usyk won on points in a thrilling fight to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis, but Fury believes a seamless build-up to the rematch will help his chances of victory live on Saturday. Sky Sports box office.

Fury and Usyk join Turki Alalshikh in a surprise call ahead of their rematch

“It’s been a lot easier this time,” Fury said Sky Sports after arriving in Riyadh on Monday.

“I’ve sparred a lot and been able to train properly, whereas before it’s no secret that I didn’t spar a lot, so I had a huge reward on my cut eye.

“In hindsight, maybe I’d push it back a bit and cost myself £10m, but it doesn’t really matter because we’re here now and I’m going to do the job on Saturday night.”

Sky Sports took a closer look at the psychological battle between Fury and Whiskey as the pair prepare to meet for the second time in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Fury claims he didn’t talk about his first professional loss, which came so close to being stopped, as he received a standing count in the 9th round.

“I didn’t process it at all. I didn’t do any processing,” Fury said.

“All I’ve done is enjoy my life and live, then go to another training camp. And I’ll continue to do the same thing after this fight.”
