‘You rise to the level of your sycophancy’: Adam Schiff knocks Trump’s picks

California’s newly sworn-in senator Adam Schiff criticized President-elect Donald Trump’s choices for supplying his administration and discussed why he doesn’t have the presidency. Joe Biden should be granted preventive pardons in an interview on “This Week” on Sunday.

“I think it sets a precedent that we don’t want to set, the precedent of issuing preemptive blanket pardons when exiting an administration,” Schiff told “This Week” anchor George Stephanopoulos.

Schiff also responded to Trump’s January 6 promise to pardon the perpetrators.

“I think the American people voted in part because they wanted to do something about crime,” he said. “Not that criminals were attacking the government because they wanted to be seen forgiven.”

When asked if Trump’s threats to go after his political enemies have anything to do with it, Schiff pointed to Trump’s nomination of hardliner Kash Patel to head the FBI.

“I think if Patel is the director of the FBI, all bets are off,” he said.

This is a developing news story. Please check back for updates.
