In less than two weeks, a spacecraft will pass through the atmosphere of our nearest star as part of a mission to “touch” the sun.
“This Christmas, the Parker Solar Probe will be the closest object ever to a star.” Nour Rawafi He said at Johns Hopkins University on December 10 at the meeting of the American Geophysical Union in Washington DC. “We’ve been waiting for this moment for almost 60 years.”
