Dickey said he expects Mangion to plead not guilty to the second-degree murder charge in New York.
The attorney said he has limited information about the New York homicide case, but acknowledged that Mangione is “accused of some serious issues.” He added that Mangione is “taking it as well as he can.”

Mangione’s defense was given 14 days on Tuesday to file a formal appeal against extradition. The suspect was bound at the waist and ankles during the arraignment at the Blair County Court House in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania.
