Journalist Ken Klippenstein recently released manifesto Reportedly found on Mangione when he was was arrested on Monday in Altoona, California. Law enforcement sources confirmed the TMZ text.
The document, a 262-word letter to “the Feds,” comments on a number of topics … including his problems with the health care business, particularly UnitedHealthcare.
Specifically, Mangione calls out the U.S. for having “the most expensive health care system in the world,” but is only No. 42 in “life expectancy.” LM goes on to call out UnitedHealthcare in particular…labeling it as “the biggest company by market cap in the US, trailing only Apple, Google and Walmart.”
He adds… “They continue to abuse our country for massive profits because the American public has allowed them to get away with it.”
While Mangione apologized for “any controversy” he may have caused, he appeared to allude to Thompson’s shooting, writing: “These parasites just came.”
However, he did not directly name the CEO of UnitedHealthcare.
He did tell the feds that he respects “what you do for the country,” going on to confirm that he was working alone … highlighting the “sad notes and to-do lists that cover the essence of it.”
Mangione ends his post by saying this is “not an awareness issue at this point, but clearly power games are being played,” but he says he’s just “the first to confront it with such brutal honesty.”
We’ve reached out to Mangione’s attorney for comment…so far no word back.
