Governor of Pennsylvania Josh Shapiro refuses to support narrative painting Brian Thompson‘s suspected killer as a modern-day vigilante … criticizing the idea as the murder case continues.
The politician said at a press conference on Monday Luigi MangioneThe same day, a key person of interest in the fatal shooting of UnitedHealthcare’s CEO was arrested in Pennsylvania.
Speaking to reporters, Shapiro made it clear that Mangione was “not a hero,” adding… “In America, we don’t kill people in cold blood to settle political differences or make a point.”
He doubled down on his stance by applauding the McDonald’s employee who called 911 for Mangio after spotting him at the fast food chain … labeling the employee “the real hero of this story.”
Mangione has since been charged forgery, carrying a firearm without a license, falsifying records or identification, and providing false identification to law enforcement.
It’s no secret that Mangione’s profile has been on the rise since he was named a person of interest in the murder investigation … his social media following has seen. increase by tens of thousands – until suspended.
Many people have expressed their support for Mangione…many have expressed their frustration with the insurance industry.In fact, one person even started a GoFundMe to support LM’s defense fund.
Still, UnitedHealthcare is seeking justice after its CEO was fatally shot last week. The company said in a statement Monday that Mangione’s arrest “brings some relief to Brian’s family, friends, colleagues and many others who have been affected by this.” from an unspeakable tragedy.”
The statement continued… “We thank law enforcement and will continue to work with them on this investigation. We ask that everyone respect the family’s privacy as they grieve.”
