Kate Upton Her fans were disturbed last month after she posted a disturbing script on Instagram … but the SI Swimsuit legend is now clarifying the details of the post, saying it had nothing to do with her MLB star husband. Justin Verlander.
As we previously reported, Upton asked her followers about a situation involving a 10-year-old girl who was traveling with her drunken father, who threatened a taxi driver with a gun “if he didn’t leave them on the freeway in the middle of the night to walk home.”
Upton then speculated whether the scene described was an emergency or a crime, and how “lawyers/judges/lawyers/law enforcement/parents” would feel about the matter … but didn’t explain exactly what was going on until Monday.
“I put a terrible emergency on my story, and I know a lot of you are concerned,” Upton said moments ago. “But a few people mistakenly thought the situation was about my husband.”
Upton revealed that the situation was actually about her niece … and explained that their family is doing everything they can to keep the child safe.
“My niece inspires me every day with her courage and resilience in the face of a situation no child should have to endure.”
Upton added: “Please keep her in your thoughts and continue to advocate for justice for children who cannot advocate for themselves.”
Upton reiterated that Verlander would never put their six-year-old daughter in danger, calling him a “wonderful father” who would ensure the safety and protection of their little girl.
Verlander, considered one of the best pitchers in MLB history, did not add further comment on the matter … but did share Upton’s statement on his own profile.
