Marjorie Taylor Greene to head new DOGE House subcommittee with plans to cut ‘waste’

Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has been named to chair a new congressional subcommittee aimed at eliminating government waste, the “Department of Government Efficiency” to be led by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, and firing government employees. it may be part of his plan.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer announced the creation of a new GOP-controlled “Delivering on Government Efficiency (DOGE)” subcommittee in the next Congress, and Greene, a loyal supporter of President-elect Donald Trump, will chair it.

Green said that in the new position, he will work to “identify and investigate waste, corruption and completely unnecessary parts of our federal government.”

“Our subcommittee will provide transparency and truth to the American people through hearings,” he said in a statement. “DOGE’s goal is to bring accountability and GUT to unnecessary government agencies.”

Rep. Jamie Raskin, the ranking Democrat on the Oversight Committee, condemned the committee and Greene’s involvement.

“So now a prominent student of American government, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, will chair a subcommittee to work with two billionaires who will receive billions more in Trump administration contracts and government grants,” Raskin said in a statement.

Lawmakers involved in the future subcommittee have already met with members of the White House’s DOGE team, including Ramaswamy, who support the Oversight Committee’s effort and are already working together, according to a source.
