England’s Charlie Hull leads ANNIKA by two shots over world No. 1 Nellie Korda in the semi-finals, setting up a potential blockbuster showdown for the title at the weekend.

Hull, who claimed her seventh career win at the Women’s European Tour Aramco Team Series in Riyadh earlier this month, shot to 10-over for her second-round four-under 66.

At five, the 28-year-old circled two, four, 10, 13 and 14-year-olds as she continued her push for a third LPGA Tour title and first since the 2022 Volunteers of the Americas Classic.

Korda, who beat Hull 6-4 in September’s Solheim Cup singles, is playing for the first time in seven weeks after a neck injury and is well placed for a seventh win of a dramatic 2024 season.

While playing next to Hull in the third round, the American said:

Hal added: “I like playing with Nellie. She makes a lot of birds, so it’s really cool to watch.”

Korda is second as he looks for his seventh win of 2024

Korda matched Hulse’s 66 on Friday, bouncing back from bogeying his opening hole by recording back-to-back birdies on his fourth and fifth holes before another surge at the eighth.

The 26-year-old then birdied the eight hole before ending her round in second place on eight under with back-to-back birdies.

Korda won six times in seven starts between January and May, including a record-tying five LPGA Tour wins in a row, but then missed three straight cuts, including two majors at the U.S. Women’s Open and the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.

Korda finished second at the AIG Women’s Open and then fifth at the Kroger Queen City Championship, making it three out of four at the Solheim Cup as she won each of her four-ball and four-ball matches before being crushed by Hull.

Hull and Korda lead the four-strong group at seven under with Alexa Pano, Jin Hee Im, Vichani Michai and Mi Hinag Lee, with Arpichaya Yubol tied for seventh at six under, four shots behind Hull.
