Eric: and: Lyle Menendez and their legal team is preparing a full court press for freedom at next month’s court hearing… and we’ve learned that their star witnesses are people in prison.
Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ… Menendez Brothers lawyer, Mark GeragosSix key witnesses will be called to the stand at their December 11 trial … and they all work for the California Department of Corrections.
The witnesses are two corrections officers, an education officer, a prison guard, a correctional lieutenant and another employee from the Department of Correctional Services…all of whom have crossed paths with Eric and Lyle during their three-plus decades behind bars.
Our sources say prison officials testify that Eric and Lyle have been rehabilitated and have been model inmates who have not only worked on themselves, but also helped other inmates improve their lives.
The witnesses will highlight, among other things, the beautification project they organized in the prison yard of Richard J. at the Donovan Correctional Facility outside San Diego, California.
Lyle launched the program, called Green Space, in 2018…and the project includes murals of San Diego landmarks, with Eric serving as lead artist.Their vision also calls for outdoor classrooms, service dog training areas and rehabilitation group meeting spaces.
Geragos filed legal documents supporting his case, including letters from dozens of relatives Jose and: Kitty Menendez … a letter supporting the release of Eric and Lyle.
TMZ has obtained the letter from the victims, in which family members of Jose and Kitty say it will help their healing process to see Eric and Lyle released.Interestingly… the family members are considered victims because they are relatives of Kitty and Jose back, and we are told that some may testify.
Our sources say that the Menendez brothers will not be in the courtroom, but will participate in the trial from the actual prison.

As we said, Eric and Lyle have several ways to go. Geragos will ask the judge to change their convictions from murder to murderwhich will immediately release them based on the maximum time served.
The judge could also give them a felony and commit them to the parole board…but that could take 6 months or even longer.
Governor of California Gavin Newsom could also swoop in at any time and change Eric and Lyle’s sentences… and Geragos submitted documents asking for forgiveness.
