Martha StewartHer ex-husband and his wife are speaking out … saying he was in an “abusive” relationship with the businesswoman after Martha admitted cheating on him.
Sheila Nelson Stewart wife of Andrew Stewartwho was married to Martha from 1961 to 1990, released a statement on Facebook before the Martha documentary hit Netflix … saying he and Andrew had been in a relationship for more than a decade.
Shayla says she and her husband enjoy a happily blended family life… with their children from their previous relationship and their grandchildren bring them great joy.
However, Shayla says Andrew’s life wasn’t always like this… admitting he has had dark chapters in his life, “including a painful and abusive marriage to Martha”.
While Andrew has moved on, Shayla says she claims Martha clearly didn’t … “because she’s choosing to publicly air their dirty laundry almost 35 years after their divorce.
Shayla and Andrew, who wrote the Facebook post, seem to throw some shade at the end of the post … adding that they “wish everyone, including Martha, the experience of loving and being loved deeply and completely, and the peace that comes from such love.”
As we told you… Martha made headlines last month when she said in the ‘Martha’ teaser that women should leave their husbands if they cheat, just someone on set to remind him he cheated on Andrew.
He answered: “Yeah, but I don’t think Andy ever knew about it” … so it’s unclear what his moral line is when it comes to leaving his spouse. Martha and Andrew have one child … daughter named Alexiswho was born in 1965
It seems Martha’s ex is trying to move on with his life… even if Martha wants to dig up the past.
