Samantha Harvey, winner of the UK’s top fiction prize, the Booker Prize, for her novel Orbitalhas created a new genre: what nature writes about space.

“I see it as a kind of pastoral space,” Harvey told him The New Scientist podcast earlier this year. “I wanted to see what you could do with words in a painterly way, to try to create this stunning, joyful, extraordinary and now slightly sad view of the Earth.”
